19Labs Hosts Thai Public Health Leaders for Telehealth Demonstration with USTDA and Zoom

We are thrilled to share highlights from our participation in a U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) Reverse Trade Mission, hosting 20 esteemed public health leaders and government officials from Thailand. Held with our partner Zoom at their Boardroom of the Future, the event included a live demonstration of 19Labs’ GALE eClinic telemedicine platform, showcasing its potential to transform healthcare delivery in rural and underserved communities.

26 November 2024

Objectives of Thailand’s Visit

The USTDA Reverse Trade Missions aim to bring international project sponsors to the United States, introduce them to cutting-edge American technologies, and foster partnerships supporting worldwide infrastructure development.

For Thailand’s delegation, this mission focused on modernizing healthcare through advancements in digital health, diagnostics, and genomics. By engaging with leading American organizations, participants explored innovative solutions, built connections with technology providers, and identified avenues for future collaboration.

“The mission will facilitate meetings to promote opportunities for future U.S. exports of products and services to support Thailand’s modernization in healthcare.” – USTDA.

Event Highlights

We were honored to be among the select technology providers featured during the Thai delegation's visit. With their expressed interest in enhancing rural healthcare and equity, we were excited to demonstrate how the GALE eClinic platform addresses these priorities.

The highlight of our presentation was a live connection with community health workers in Guyana. Thanks to Verlina Conrado from Paruima and Rexon Jonah from Phillipai, both in Region 7 of Guyana, we \ were able to hear their personal stories and virtually tour the clinic in Paruima, some 4,300+ miles away from the conference, showcasing the power of telemedicine to bridge vast distances. Attendees witnessed diagnostic tools in action, including the EchoNous ultrasound and Mintti stethoscope, as the health workers captured and transmitted a live heartbeat from the Amazon rainforest—broadcast directly into Zoom’s cutting-edge meeting space, the Boardroom of the Future. This experience underscored the GALE eClinic platform’s potential to break geographic barriers and deliver advanced care anywhere in the world.

Looking Ahead

This meeting marks the beginning of meaningful collaborations, and we are eager to explore opportunities to bring our transformative technologies to communities worldwide.

Special Thanks

We extend our deepest gratitude to the community health workers in Guyana for their invaluable contributions to the live presentation. A heartfelt thanks also go to our partners: Zoom for hosting the event in their Boardroom of the Future and EchoNous for the live remote ultrasound guidance during the mock telemedicine visit. Lastly, many thanks to the USTDA and the US Department of Commerce for orchestrating this mission and facilitating introductions with Thailand’s public health leaders.

We are excited to continue exploring new opportunities to bring our innovative technologies to communities worldwide.
